Singapore: 9 Reasons Why We Love Lloyd’s Inn

If you’re looking for a quiet place to stay as your home away from home, we definitely recommend Lloyd’s Inn. Of the 3 places we stayed in, Lloyd’s was our favourite and here are 9 reasons why:

1. The Location

It is hidden from the hustle and bustle of the main streets but also tucked just a few minutes away from Orchard Road.

2. The Rooms

Lloyd’s Inn has different kinds of rooms to fit every traveler – whether  you’re on your honeymoon, travelling for business, having a staycation, or traveling with your friends and family.

Our room was perfect: A study space for Michael to do CAD, an outdoor washroom and tub for me to relax, and our own patio to just chill and drink Kopi.

3. The Outdoor Bath

I basically spent all my time here.

4.  The breakfast

Although Lloyd’s did not have a restaurant on site, guests were treated with traditional Singaporean breakfast at Killiney Kopitiam on the next block, and I kid you not when I say it was the best breakfast I ever had. I don’t know how I lived this long without knowing what Kaya toast is! I may have brought the jam with me to Canada haha! It completely changed my plan to cafe hop and we ended up still going to Killiney Kopitiam even when we moved out of Lloyd’s Inn.

5. The Interiors

6. The Service

Aside from asking the helpful receptionists for directions, we survived our first three days roaming around SG with the Handy smartphone that Lloyd’s Inn provides their guests. Complete with data and apps, it certainly made our lives easier.

9. Their Social Media

I’ve been following their Instagram months before we flew to Singapore, and their Insta stories make me feel like I am travelling with them as well. I love their series #LloydsInnExplores because I get to see the places I want to go to in the future.

On top of that, their website is not your typical hotel website – it was one of the reasons why I booked their place because if they gave extra effort to make their website that lovely, I’m pretty sure they will give extra effort to make their guests enjoy their stay – and we did.

There’s so much more to love about Lloyd’s Inn so give it a try, it will not disappoint. Let me know how it goes! 🙂

Singapore: Parkroyal on Pickering

An architectural gem in the midst of Chinatown, Parkroyal on Pickering was our mutual pick as one of our hotels during our stay in Singapore. Michael’s love for design and my newly found love for plants in one building? Count us in!

I could go on with how we love the service and how beautiful the hotel was but pictures speak a thousand words:

The breakfast buffet spread was one of a kind especially since there was a matcha fountain

Parkroyal on Pickering, like it’s tagline is a refreshing escape in an urban oasis – you could just stay in all day. However, if you do need to go out, the location is just a few steps away from the train station, a short bus ride to Marina Bay, and a few steps to the Chinatown market.

Planning to stay at Parkroyal on your next travel to Singapore? Let me know how it goes. 🙂

Love,
